Bathroom Renovation

You are normally going to be disposing of cabinetry, old shower screen, curtain rail, some floor tiles, some wall tiles, possibly a bath tub and the packaging that your new materials were shipped in. Over the course of hundreds of bathroom renovation jobs we have found that the most commonly used size is a 3 cubic yard Skip.

Kitchen Remodel

The volume generated by kitchen renovations varies more than that of bathroom renovations because the size of kitchens is more variable than that of bathrooms. The waste generated generally consists of cabinetry and old bench tops, possibly a stove and dishwasher, floor coverings such as tiles or vinyl, wall tiles and packaging that your new materials arrived in. We have found the most commonly used size is a 5 cubic yard Skip.

Bathroom & Kitchen Remodel

By adding the recommended sizes of a Kitchen remodel (5 cubic yards) along with a Bathroom remodel, we have found that the most commonly used size is a 8 cubic yards*.

Moving (small cleanup)

If you are only throwing out general junk items (no large items), you will likely need our 5 cubic yard Skip.

Moving (large cleanup)

If you are moving and plan on throwing out any furniture, bikes, exercise equipment, and/or appliances, as well as general junk items, you will likely need 10 cubic yards*.

Garage Cleanout

A single car garage will most likely need a 5 cubic yard Skip.

For a 2 car garage, we recommend using 10 cubic yards*.

For a 3 car garage, we recommend using 15 cubic yards*.

*All sizes greater than 5 cubic yards require delivery of 2 or more Skips simultaneously.

Flooring

The Skip size we recommend is 5 cubic yards per 1000 square feet of flooring to be removed. This includes tile, wood, laminate, and rolled up carpet with padding.  Using this formula:

1000 square feet of flooring will likely need our 5 cubic yard Skip.

1600 square feet of flooring will likely need 8 cubic yards*.

2000 square feet of flooring will likely need 10 cubic yards*.

*All sizes greater than 5 cubic yards require delivery of 2 or more Skips simultaneously.

Roofing

With roofing material, you’ll want to measure the square footage of the roof along with the number of layers of shingles. You’ll most likely need 5 cubic yards Skip per 750 square feet of shingles (single layer) to be removed. Using this calculation:

750 square feet of roofing will likely need our 5 cubic yard Skip.

1500 square feet of roofing will likely need 10 cubic yards*.

2250 square feet of roofing will likely need 15 cubic yards*.

*All sizes greater than 5 cubic yards require delivery of 2 or more Skips simultaneously.

Deck Demolition

When taking down a deck, you’ll want to measure the square footage of the deck you’re going to be demolishing. Our basic recommendation is 5 cubic yards Skip per 125 square feet of decking. That means that a deck that measures:

125 square feet will most likely need our 5 cubic yard Skip.

250 square feet will most likely need 10 cubic yards*.

375 square feet will most likely need 15 cubic yards*.

*All sizes greater than 5 cubic yards require delivery of 2 or more Skips simultaneously.
